Rocket Compulsion

ROCKET COMPULSION demonstrates the danger, thrill, complexity – and the mustard – it takes to succeed in the near impossible feat of building and flying a Rocket Belt. This film will take the audience on a ride that shows point blank why less people have flown Rocket Belts than have walked on the moon.

Developed by Bell Aerospace during the height of the cold war, the Rocket Belt promised to be the future of military and lunar transport but it wasn't until 1965 that the Rocket Belt entered the public arena. The Rocket Belt gave us a glimpse of a brave new world. It was to be our liberation; no longer were we to be earthbound. So what happened? Where are they now?

ROCKET COMPULSION follows tenacious Australian Jet Pilot, David Mayman, as he strives to achieve his dream, only to discover he faces a near impossible task in building and free-flying his very own Rocket Belt. Collaborating with the world's leading Rocket Belt engineers and pilots David risks life and limb on his quest to become the world's next Rocketman. One of the lucky dozen.
