Jetman

The creators of ROCKET COMPULSION, the documentary that delves into what it takes to become a Rocketman, return to launch us to the next level of exhilaration , excitement, challenge and technological advancement in their new documentary JETMAN.

Australian aviation fanatic David Mayman is at it again becoming the 12th Rocketman in history just isn't enough, he wants to do what no man in history has ever achieved...

For over 50 years Aerospace specialists around the globe have struggles with the complexity and dangers of creating a safe, personal propulsion device that will fly longer than the Rocket Belt's maximum flight time of 28 seconds.

JETMAN places the audience in the front seat of David's exhilarating top secret mission. With determination bordering on the obsessive, David pursues an ambitious plan to become the first person in history to build and fly a turbine driven, oxygen breathing jet pack. David reunites the team from ROCKET COMPULSION; Academy Award winning engineer Nelson Tyler, Robert Knight and veteran Rocket Belt pilot William Suitor. Together they set out on the seemingly impossible task of building and flying what is considered the "holy Grail" of flying machines.

The history of the Jet Pack is peppered with US military secrets and the shattered dreams of the aerospace engineers who pioneered the technology in the late 60's. Only one turbine jet engine in history was successfully designed for self-flight and David discovers that access to this engine is strictly controlled by the military as it currently propels the Tomahawk ballistic missile. If the team is to have any chance of success they must find an alternative. They scour the world testing everything from drone jets in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, to extremely powerful home made turbines in the UK. Each engine requires Nelson to engineer a different pack design. Each design requires extensive testing. After many years in development, David is determined to overcome every obstacle that challenges his team as they close in on achieving their dream.

This dynamic, exhilarating, technologically driven, cutting edge story will show point blank what it takes to be the first to build and fly a monster of a turbine powered, oxygen breathing Jet pack!
